The Rotman Institute of Philosophy is a globally recognized centre of research and training, situated at Western University. Our multidisciplinary team is changing the way philosophy of science and bioethics are done, by bringing philosophers and scientists together to explore philosophical questions that emerge from contemporary science. Research at the Institute is done in four core areas: research ethics, foundations of physics, philosophy of neuroscience, and environmental philosophy. Research projects are structured around dynamic, interdisciplinary teams of faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. All applicants to the Doctoral Program in the Department of Philosophy at Western University with a stated research interest in philosophy and science (including epistemology, ethics or history of science) are eligible for the $10,000 Rotman Doctoral Entrance Scholarship.
